The Council received one Recommendation arising from the Executive meeting held on 18 October 2018.

RESOLVED that the recommendation of the Executive, from its meeting on 18 October 2018, under Minute 52 (Marketfield Way – Construction of Mixed Use Development) be adopted.

Membership of the Employment and Standards Committees

Following the sad loss of Councillor Mrs Mill on 6 September 2018 vacancies have arisen on the Employment and Standards Committees.

Following consultation with the Party Group Leaders Councillor M. Blacker has been appointed as a member of the Employment Committee and Councillor D. Allcard has been appointed as a member of the Standards Committee for the remainder of the 2018/19 Municipal Year by the Head of Legal and Governance Services utilising the delegation introduced by Council in November 2016.

Council is requested to note the report.

Mayor's announcements

The Mayor informed the Council:

·         It had been necessary to cancel the Film Premiere, which had been due to take place on Friday 2 November 2018, due to ongoing renovation of the Harlequin Theatre and Cinema Warwick Quadrant, Redhill. It was noted that an alternative charity film event was being planned for February 2019.

 

·         Of the various Remembrance Sunday events taking place on Sunday 11 November 2018.

 

·         A Ladies Lunch would be held on Tuesday 20 November 2018 at the Redhill and Reigate Golf Club. It was noted that Virginia McKenna, from the Born Free Foundation, would be a guest speaker.

 

·         That the Civic Pantomime would take place at The Harlequin Theatre on Sunday 8 December 2018.

 

·         That a Christmas Carol Service would take place on Sunday 16 December at Reigate Park Church.

The Mayor concluded by highlighting that the Harlequin Theatre and Cinema Warwick Quadrant, Redhill would be hosting a Cabaret night on Saturday 27 April 2019 to raise money for the Mayor’s charities (the Born Free Foundation  and George and the Giant Pledge).
