RESOLVED that the Press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 on the grounds that:
(i) it involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act; and
(ii) the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighed the public interest in disclosing the information.

17 HEAD OF NEIGHBOURHOOD SERVICES: APPOINTMENT
RESOLVED that the post of Head of Neighbourhood Services be offered to Applicant 11482 and subject to acceptance he be appointed to the post.

16The Director of Services to the Community outlined the information in the confidential papers and the application process to date. Members of the Committee were given the opportunity to ask the Director and Head of Personnel and Support Services any questions relating to the application packs and test results.

Members asked that the process for measuring and reporting on competencies be reviewed.
17The Committee interviewed two candidates for the post of Head of Neighbourhood Services. As part of the interviews the candidates each gave a presentation and were then asked pre-determined questions. Confidential papers relating to the applicants had been circulated separately to Members of the Committee only, together with the Director of Services to the Community and the Head of Personnel and Support Services. At the end of the interviews each candidate was given the opportunity to ask the Committee questions.
