Decisions and Recommendations

The decision is being taken under authority delegated by Executive pursuant to recommendations in reports to Executives dated 29 November 2018 regarding the acquisition of a freehold property in Salfords, Redhill Distribution Centre.
Item 79 of the minutes of the Executive meeting recorded:
Subject to a satisfactory due diligence report being received, the Head of Finance

To authorise the acquisition of Units 1-5 Redhill Distribution Centre following the consultations required by the Executive and confirmation of due diligence as requested by the Executive on 29 November 2018.

Seats on both the Overview and Scrutiny Committee and Surrey County Council Local Committee became vacant following the resignation of Councillor J.C. White on 3 December 2018.

Paragraph 1.27 of the Scheme of Delegation provides for the Head of Service with responsibility Democratic Services to:

Make changes to party representation on line committees (including adding/removing substitutes) following consultation with Group Leaders.

In providing this delegation the Council requested that such decisions be reported to the next available Council meeting.

As the vacancy has arisen from the resignation of Residents Association Member their Deputy Group Leader, Councillor Harrison (on behalf of their Group Leader who was unwell at the time) has nominated Councillor Harrison as a replacement to sit on the Overview and Scrutiny Committee and Councillor Whinney as a replacement to sit on the Surrey County Council Local Committee.

To appoint Councillor Harrison as a Member of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee and Councillor Whinney as a Member of the Surrey County Council Local Committee.
