RESOLVED that the Minutes of the meeting held on 24th May 2012 be approved as a correct record and signed.

21 QUESTIONS BY MEMBERS
Seven questions were asked and responses given by the Executive Member for Economy and Jobs - Councillor S.T. Walsh (1); the Executive Member for Housing and Welfare - Councillor J.M. Ellacott (1); the Executive Member for Leisure - Councillor A.J. De Save (1); the Executive Member for Planning and Development - Councillor M.J. Miller (2); the Executive Member for Property and Regeneration - Councillor Mrs N.J. Bramhall (1) and the Leader of the Council - Councillor Mrs J.M.A. Spiers (1) in accordance with Council Procedure Rule 14 and the Order paper circulated at the meeting.
22 RECOMMENDATIONS OF COMMITTEES AND THE EXECUTIVE
(a) Overview and Scrutiny Committee: 18th April 2012

RESOLVED the Recommendation under Minute 92 (Overview and Scrutiny Committee: Annual Report 2011/12) be adopted.

(b) Executive: 31st May 2012

RESOLVED that the Recommendation under Minute 5 (Appointments to Outside Bodies and Ad-Hoc Groups) be adopted.

(c) Standards Committee: 13th June 2012

RESOLVED that the Recommendations under Minute 7 (Localism Act 2011: A New Framework for Standards) be adopted.
23 STATEMENTS
RESOLVED that the statements be noted.
24 SEALING OF DOCUMENTS
RESOLVED to:

(i) authorise the sealing of any Orders, Deeds or Documents necessary to give effect to any matter contained in the Minutes of the meetings held between 30th March 2012 and 9th May 2012 (2011/12 Volume 7) and 24th May 2012 and 6th June 2012 (2012/13 Volume 1) and any previous Minutes; and

(ii) ratify the sealing of documents referred to in entries 81/12 to 86/12 in the Seal Register.
25 LEADER'S ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Leader of the Council (Councillor Mrs J.M.A. Spiers) made an announcement in relation to the election of Members to the Council, the voluntary nature of this commitment and associated responsibilities and involvement in Council business, including attendance at meetings and briefings.
26 MAYOR'S ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Mayor reported that he would be attending an Armed Forces flag raising ceremony on 25th June at 10.15 a.m. Attendance of other Members was welcome. Following on from this event the Mayor on 30th June would be officiating at the Reigate Community festival incorporating Armed Forces day celebrations from 10.30 a.m. in Priory Park Reigate

The Mayor's Civic Church Service would take place on Sunday 1st July at 10 a.m. at St Mark's Church Alma Road Reigate. A coffee morning was to be held on 11th July at the Town Hall, Reigate in aid of the Surrey Care Trust.

The Mayor reported that Heritage Open Day was on 8th September and the Council would again be participating. Finally, Members were informed that applications were now being sought in respect of the annual Mayor's volunteer awards.
The meeting closed at 8.11 p.m.

23The Leader of the Council (Councillor Mrs J.M.A. Spiers) was pleased to report that the Council had recently received an engineering excellence award from the Institute of Civil Engineers in respect of the new Horley Leisure Centre.
The Executive Member for Leisure (Councillor A.J. De Save) made a statement on the Council's very successful participation in this year's Surrey Youth Games. Reigate and Banstead had been crowned overall champions of the Youth Games - for the second year in a row.
